Refund & Cancellation Policy
Effective September 10, 2026
At Aquila Closets, each project may be individually measured, designed, ordered, manufactured, and installed for a specific customer's space. Because many of our products are customized, cancellations and refunds are handled differently from purchases of ordinary, off-the-shelf merchandise. This Refund & Cancellation Policy should be read together with the customer's proposal, contract, design approval, and applicable law.
1. Before Final Design Approval or Production
If you wish to cancel a project, contact Aquila Closets as soon as possible. Any refund available before final design approval, material ordering, or production begins will be determined according to the applicable contract and the costs already incurred in connection with the project. Any separately disclosed and earned design, consultation, measurement, administrative, permit, or similar fee may be handled according to the applicable agreement and law.
2. After Design Approval
Once you approve your final design, Aquila Closets may order materials, reserve production capacity, cut materials, manufacture custom components, or otherwise begin fulfilling your customized order. Because these products may be manufactured specifically for your property, cancellation after this stage may be subject to deductions or charges for work performed, materials ordered, custom products manufactured, and other costs incurred, as permitted by the applicable contract and law. Custom-made products generally cannot be returned to inventory or resold in the same manner as standard retail merchandise.
3. Custom-Manufactured Products
Custom products made or ordered according to customer-approved measurements, specifications, colors, finishes, layouts, or configurations generally are not returnable simply because the customer changes their mind after production has begun, except where otherwise provided by the contract or required by law. This provision does not limit rights relating to defective products, incorrect products, workmanship issues, or other rights that cannot legally be waived.
4. Customer-Requested Changes
Changes requested after final design approval may result in additional costs. Depending on the stage of production, customers may be responsible for materials already ordered or manufactured as well as costs associated with redesign, replacement materials, additional labor, delivery, or rescheduling. Aquila Closets will communicate material additional charges for requested changes before proceeding when customer authorization is required.
5. Defective, Damaged, or Incorrect Products
If you believe a product is defective, damaged, incorrectly manufactured, or inconsistent with the approved project specifications, please contact Aquila Closets promptly. We may inspect the product or installation to determine the nature and cause of the issue. When Aquila Closets determines that an issue is covered by an applicable warranty or is our responsibility, we may repair, replace, adjust, or otherwise correct the affected item as appropriate and as required by the applicable agreement and law.
6. Installation Concerns
Customers should report installation concerns promptly after discovering them. Whenever reasonably possible, Aquila Closets should be given an opportunity to inspect and correct covered workmanship issues before the customer hires another contractor to perform corrective work. This provision does not limit any rights or remedies available under applicable law.
7. Customer Measurement
If Aquila Closets manufactures a product based solely on measurements supplied by the customer, the customer is responsible for the accuracy of those measurements unless otherwise agreed in writing. Replacement or modification resulting solely from inaccurate customer-supplied measurements may result in additional charges.
8. Scheduling Changes
If you need to reschedule an installation, please provide as much advance notice as reasonably possible. Repeated or last-minute rescheduling may result in reasonable rescheduling or additional costs when disclosed and permitted under the applicable agreement.
9. Statutory Cancellation Rights
Nothing in this Refund & Cancellation Policy is intended to waive, restrict, or eliminate any cancellation, refund, warranty, or other consumer right provided by applicable federal, New York State, or local law. Where applicable law or a customer's contract provides a statutory cancellation period or requires a particular notice of cancellation, those requirements will control over any inconsistent provision of this policy.
10. Refund Method
When a refund is approved, it will generally be issued using the original payment method when reasonably possible. Processing times may vary depending on the bank, credit-card company, payment processor, or other financial institution involved.
